Christmas 2006

Some years ago - Two or three, I advertised in and purchased a "Gifts I Have Given" book and would like to order a new one.

Christmas 2006 is just around the corner.  We have just begun to prepare for it.  My husband and I bought our Christmas cards, gift wrapping paper and our Holiday Crackers. I have addressed and written all our Christmas cards and now they are ready to be mailed by early December. I just need to print out my yearly Christmas poem written by me to include with every card.

Wow what a day - I got the Candy Cane Club launched last night and then today I moved 75% of my gift closet to an unused area in the office/school room downstairs.  This will allow me to move clothes back into the Cedar closet since we are bursting out of our one in the bedroom (we live in an older home - built 1948).

Ok normally all my decorations get put back in one or two places BUT this past year we were on the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Associations Holiday Home Tour and I had others helping me decorate and I am now discovering boxes of things that were not used that did not get put upstairs with the rest of the stuff (but I do plan on using this year).  So what I have done is found me a corner in the rec room and this is my collection point for items that have strayed.  It is really helping me to do this as I have also found some things I purchased after Christmas last year that were brought into the house via the downstairs door by the kids and I never went behind them and put it with the other items in the attic.  Finding the things is making me ready to decorate for Christmas but  I will wait!  Decorating happens the weekend after Thanksgiving (well maybe I will do some before :) )

I am getting excited about the upcoming Christmas season but I have got to clean, declutter more and get things in order to make Christmas gifts and things to sell at the Christmas craft fair I do every year.

I am so excited and have started really preparing for Christmas.  I have been sorting and wrapping gifts today!  I feel like I am ready to start decorating BUT I will not - instead I will get out a page and lay out my floor grid and mark out where my decorations will go.
