Gift Giving

Gift List

Write Down Everyone You Would Like to Give a Gift To!

Wouldn't you just love to give everyone you know a small gift or token this coming holiday season?

While most people's budget will not allow this, it is still important to list everyone on your gift list page in your notebook. Just sit down with a blank piece of paper and start jotting down names as they come to you. Do not forget the paper delivery person, your minister, children's teachers (including aides), etc. as well as all your family.

If you would like pre-made gift list forms you may join the Candy Cane Club or purchase the Christmas Organizing Handbook download for $9.95 at the top of the page.  It includes forms designed around my suggestions.

After you do this list you need to assign everyone a letter. Here is an example of what I do in my notebook: A = must give, B = really want to give, C = want to give, and D = will give if I can. You can use more letters or other classifications to suit your needs. By dividing your list up this way you do not end up putting a D person before an A person!

Gifts from the Heart

Are you someone who likes to give a little something to everyone. Maybe just a loaf of homemade bread or a jar of jelly? Well make sure you have enough for everyone. In your notebook make a page for homemade gifts, whether it is a plate of cookies, homemade cinnamon ornament, a craft you make, a homemade Christmas card or other small gifts. Under each gift write the names from your gift list that you want to give it to. By doing this you might actually give something to everyone but you will also be organized when it comes time to make them. If you know you want to give 20 people homemade jelly but only have 10 jelly jars you can put the word out to friends that you need 10 jars or be on the watch for them at yard sales. (P.S. this year lots of people on my list are getting jam and I am making it as each fruit comes in season this summer so by the end of the summer that part of my gift list is finished plus I have one of each kind to enter into the county fair! Jelly is really easy and fun to make.) Below you will find some ideas for some gifts.

Give a Memory for a Gift!

G is for . . .

G is for Gift Giving
Gift giving plays an important part in the holiday season and with a little careful planning you can give from the heart, not break the bank and maybe get something you really want for yourself this year! Making lists and checking them twice is the key !

In my notebook gifts take up the most room because I love to try to give to lots of people-even if it is just something small! I have a separate divider for Gift List, Gift Box, Gifts to Buy, Gift Ideas, Gifts for Me (so I know what to tell others to get me when they ask), Gifts to Make. Gifts play an important role in our holidays and by planning ahead and organizing I can make it not be so time consuming during the holiday season or put me into debt for the next 10 years! If you make gifts or cook food for people it is even more important that you have a plan.
