Making Stockings,, need help.

Stockings

I am making Christmas Stockings for 3 teenaged nephews,, and I had in mind to make them from plaid flannel,, like the work shirts. My problem is, how do I make them stiff enough to hold their shape. I have the flannel,, but it seems too soft. I want them to be sturdier. Can anyone give me advice on what to maybe use as a backing?? Thanks Trudy in Missouri

I made stockings for our family and they weren't too soft, but they were lined. If you are worried you can use a med. weight interfacing and then line them. I hope this helps:)
