French Memory Boards

Last year for Christmas I made some French Memory Boards. What they are is a padded bulletin board that has buttons and ribbons across the front. I found them at another organizing site called OrganizedChristmas.com. It took about 30 minutes to make each board so it is a very quick and easy craft, with very easy to follow directions. WHAT I LIKE THE BEST about the French Memory Board is that you can easily customize the board to fit the person you are giving it to. For instance, you can use Care Bears material, rainbow ribbon and heart shaped buttons for a Care Bears fan. WHAT I LIKE THE LEAST is the directions say to use shank buttons for the front. I have always had a horrible time working with shank buttons. So I improvised and used decorative flat buttons instead. The flat buttons worked just fine. Hope some of you can use this idea.
