Gift List

Write Down Everyone You Would Like to Give a Gift To!

Wouldn't you just love to give everyone you know a small gift or token this coming holiday season?

While most people's budget will not allow this, it is still important to list everyone on your gift list page in your notebook. Just sit down with a blank piece of paper and start jotting down names as they come to you. Do not forget the paper delivery person, your minister, children's teachers (including aides), etc. as well as all your family.

If you would like pre-made gift list forms you may join the Candy Cane Club or purchase the Christmas Organizing Handbook download for $12.95 at the top of the page.  It includes forms designed around my suggestions.

After you do this list you need to assign everyone a letter. Here is an example of what I do in my notebook: A = must give, B = really want to give, C = want to give, and D = will give if I can. You can use more letters or other classifications to suit your needs. By dividing your list up this way you do not end up putting a D person before an A person!

Make a separate page for each classification group and list everybody with that letter on it. One more thing I do with my list is take my A list and divide it into groups. For instance I have one list that says Mom, Grandma, Daddy, Home, and under each list I put all the people that are connected with that place so all the gifts that need to be mailed at once get mailed together. At my Grandmothers I have almost 20 people I send gifts to and I like to do it with one big package to save money and by having them on a list by themselves I can make sure I get everybody's gifts to them at the same time! Do not be surprised if your D (will give if I can) list is the largest! Mine always is.

You will then need to make other pages dividing everyone into some sort of groups with the following columns: Name, gift ideas, gift given, wrapped, date to give/mail, given/mailed. Some of these can be marked with a yes as you do them. This helps you know what you have done and what you have left.

Below you will see a sample of one of my gift giving pages. I use Microsoft Excel to create my lists on then print them out and put them in my notebook.
