Are You Over-Booked, Over-Stressed & Out of Christmas JOY? The Christmas Coach is Here to Help!
my machine embroidery stocking
I'm in several stocking swaps, for the one here I made a snowman stocking and used purchased stockings for most of the others.
The Santa's embroidery stocking was supposed to be handmade and my partners favorite colors were pink and purple and she listed things like baskets and butterflies as special interests so I selected designs in these motifs and colors and embroidered them on Satin scraps and then sewed them together scrap quit fashion onto a fleece backing into a fabric piece just a bit larger all around than the stocking pattern I had drawn out
I opened up the fabric and used the decorative stitches on my sewing machine to sew down the front of each seam line as I sewed the pieces together I also used a fleece backing for the back and flap I lined the stocking and added a lined flap between the stocking back and lining.
I managed to sew the lining in in such a way that the lining toe faced the stocking heel and had to redo it.
Because of the untraditional colors and theme I wanted it to be usable for more than the holiday season so used a handle \of cord instead of a hang loop and velcro closing for the flap. That way it can be used as a hosery bag or a small laundry bag for daintie undies or to protect a small treasure.
