Christmas after Hurricane

We were flooded by Hurricane Ivan last year at our PA house while we were at our dd's house in Florida for the winter.   The house in PA is a disaster.  The entire house except for the living room and kitchen are trashed.  And they are filthy and full of stuff from other areas of the house that are outdoors basically.  We might not have the dining room and sunroom-where there would be enough room for the tree right now ready in time. 

I am not sure what to do but I am so glad I found Kris again and can try to start now so I can have a Christmas.  My Mom died last year so we didn't celebrate Christmas or any holidays and just went to Disney World.  That worked great, but we can not do that this year.

I am thinking of a 50's theme.  Back to my early childhood.  We have little money-no insurance for flooding due to not being able to buy it since we are not in a flood zone.  My dh has not worked for almost 2 years from a 14 foot fall complete with broken bones, casts, and blood clots on their way to his lungs and then a heart attack on the day Mom died-just as the doctor said they could not bring her back.  I am so traumatized by her death as it was due to a wrong blood transfusion.  So, being a basket case I don't know if I can pull this off or not.  I have construction materials-haha!  But, no money for gifts, etc.  Two grandchildren, a boy 2 1/2 and a new baby due in November-a girl.  Two daughters who are disgusted with me about the whole thing and my entire life right now.  Food card from state for $62 a month.  sigh...

I need ideas for colors, theme ideas, homemade gifts, food on a slim budget, and also I want to recreate my childhood Christmas's.  Somehow.  I would love to have a doll for my first dgd and something for my dgs.  I am going to ask the girls if we can bake at their houses and maybe they will purchase the supplies.  I know I can not get them out of my food budget. 

Can anyone help me out?  I am doing my organizing center this month.
