Strawberry Pretzel Squares

Description

I simply LOVE this salad! I think it's from Kraft Foods, but I'm not sure.

Ingredients

  • 2 C finely crushed pretzels
  • 1⁄3 C sugar plus 1/4 cup, separated
  • 2⁄3 C margarine or butter, melted
  • 12 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 5 1⁄4 pt strawberries, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 C cool whip
  • 2 C boiling water
  • 1 ea 8-serving package strawberry jello
  • 1 1⁄2 C cold water

Instructions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix crushed pretzels, 1/3 cup sugar, and margaine. Press firmly into bottom of 13x9 pan. Bake 10 minutes; cool completely.

 

Beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, and milk until smooth. Stir in cool whip. Spread over crust; refrigerate. Stir boiling water into jello in large bowl for two minutes or until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water. Regrigerate 1 1/2 hours or until thickened. Stir in strawberries. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
